History of Breakdance refers to the history of Breakdance and Hip Hop. It is splitted into 5 decades: Oldskool, Westcoast Gangstarap, Eighties, Nineties, Abstract/Contemporary.
In collaboration with Matthias Wermke, i was busy on the on the contemporary forms of Hip Hop. Our idea is based on our big incomprehension of the contemporary sell out of the Hip Hop cultur. While illustrated the story of an young teenager stepping into to the culture we resumed the history of Hip Hop according ot our own thoughts again. Fully packed with mass of information and high as hell he puked on the whole display window. Firts the painted puke converts into the writing "HIP HOP 2005" and finally into the appeal "Peace on Earth". This is the end of our chapter and the hole movie.
Technical realisation :
History of Breakdance is an analog made stopmotion movie. Painted on a wall with the size of 3x4 metres and permanently shot from an unmodified point of view. More than 15000 photographys were taken and arranged to this movie.
