An installation in an ex-brewery cellar during Refugien 8 inBerlin in may, 2005.
A work by Richard Schwarz, Thomas Wiczak, Rico Sell (Ton) and Nerz.
Hope dies last.
Hope described as a negative, immortal, exhausted emotion, as installation with sound in an old brewery basement.
A big but filigree sculptur typifieds a emaciated hope which clings inside the dephts of the human soul in a voluminous, old, subterranean arch.
Visual:
The Viewer was only alone allowed to step inside the dark room. The only source of light were integrated leds, the installation shined from inside out. The work was placed in the back of the room, the viewer needs to go close to get a detailed view. Dry and muddy sandheaps and puddles changed the surface of the ground, this sharps the viewers senses and catched all focus. The deeper he explores the room the better he recognised the sculpture's form and the further away from the outside world. Close to the object you saw very fine structures. For personal reasons the letters IDIOMMRX gave the sculptures architecture. A black tar glaze amplified optical the permant soft rain water flow on the sidewalls.
Auditory:
The brewery basement offers a helpful sound background inherently, only hearable was the echo of waterdrips . While working with silence and echo works Rico Sells sounddesign tried only to support this.
